:: CEL - Consórcio de Epidemiologia de Lisboa ::::

The Lisbon Epidemiology Consortium (CEL) was launched in May 2007 as a joint venture of the University of Lisbon (UL – link to UL) and Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (IGC – link to IGC) to develop integrative approaches to epidemiology research, training and practice.

Our strategic plan to develop epidemiology as a multidisciplinary science stands on three principal components:

To recruit a team of researchers that will strengthen existing links and establish new collaborations between research groups;
To launch of a PhD programme in epidemiology;
To install a service unit for epidemiological data management and interpretation to inform public health policy making.

We have obtained funding from the Portuguese Ministry of Science to recruit 6 experienced researchers and are seeking candidates with a diversity of profiles (link to positions). The coordinator of CEL is Gabriela Gomes, currently leading the Theoretical Epidemiology group at the IGC.
